Inflammation is a sign that your body is working properly. A lot of people get worried that something is wrong with them when there is
inflammation even though that’s partly true it’s still a good sign. The body is healing itself. The initial reaction p[people have to inflammation is
to reduce it. This is not necessarily the best thing to do since it could slow down the healing process. People don’t realize that without
inflammation the body wouldn’t heal.
Inflammation is the beginning of the healing process and aims to damaged cells, irritants and pathogens. Inflammation is from an
accumulation of dead cells. There is two types of inflammation., acute and chronic.
Acute inflammation has a rapid onset and quickly becomes serve. It will only last a few days or at the most a few weeks. Some examples are
a sore throat, inflammation from training, and acute tonsillitis. Acute inflammation occur the second after tissue has been damaged. Signs of
inflammation are pain, redness, immobility, swelling and heat. Chronic inflammation is the opposite, it can last for months or even years. This
can be caused by a failure in eliminating the irritant or the body could be attacking healthy tissue. Examples are asthma, tuberculoses and
rheumatoid arthritis. Chronic inflammation can eventually cause other diseases such as cancer.
There are things you can do to reduce inflammation. You can ice the inflamed area. There are also medications you can take to reduce
swelling. NSAIDs are the most common type of medication taken to reduce inflammation. Some NSAIDs are ibuprofen aspirin. Acetaminophen is
another type of medication taken. An example of an acetaminophen is Tylenol. Other things that can help are tart cherries, green tea and fish
oil.
