Immune & Lymphatic system
The immune system is quite impressive,it is the ultimate body guard. It is key to human health and survival. It can protect you against
bacteria, viruses, toxins, parasites and many more. We call these antigen. The human immune system is very organized, quick to respond and has
a superb way of communication.
When the body is being attacked by an outsider, the immune system is the one the steps up and takes care of the problem. The first
important task the immune system does is the recognition between self and non-self. When a non-self organism has detected the antigen, the
specialized cell is notified by the messenger cell . The specialized cell “trains” stem cells to fight this specific invader. Stem cells are cells that
haven’t specialized yet.
The immune system started with the layer most layer of the body. The skin. The skin keeps most antigens out but if there is a break in the
skin this givesantigens the perfect opportunity to get into the body. The B cell will recognize the foreign antigen and the antibodies will soon
ambushthe antigen which will make it powerless against the killer T cells.
The lymphatic system is also important to the body’s defense system. The lymphatic system filters out any antigens they spot. They also
produces white blood cells and antibodies. The lymphatic system also filters the fluids in the body . this keeps this running the ways things
should. The immune system and lymphatic system both work together to protect the body from foreign organisms.
